Practicing Recall

The thing that is least practiced is recall: looking at a target and letting the working memory go to the long-term memory. Then letting the long-term memory make the file and hand it off to the working memory.

The working memory takes that shot where and exactly how I want the shot taken without ad-libbing. The working memory likes to ad-lib right at the end of the shot. It likes to get involved with it and get involved with the mechanics and having the working memory being able to say, “Shut up and do it where I want it how I want it done. Now let’s get on with it.”

Practicing keeping the working memory in a box. Even though the working memory has to take the shot, it has to fire the circuit – the sequence. We don’t want it to ad-lib and get involved with it as the bird and the gun come together.
