Practice Every Day
Please, practice your gun mount every day. Don’t make your job and ours harder by not doing it.
Saying or thinking that you’re eliminating risk by shooting a mounted gun means you need to practice your gun mount. Being able to mount the gun 95 percent perfectly 100 percent of the time is essential for higher levels of performance and focus. You can’t work on the mental game if you are worried about whether you mounted the gun correctly.
Everything about the mounting of the gun must be in the automaticity circuit. Just thinking you have to make sure the gun is mounted correctly takes away from your ability to focus on the target. And it keeps you from learning at a faster rate!
